Meet Me

My aim is to provide warm, integrative care for mind, body, and soul.

Meet Me

“Hake, like cake.”

I’m Dr. Lisa Hake, a board-certified psychiatrist with a lifelong passion for helping people find healing, meaning, and peace of mind. My name is pronounced “Hake, like cake” simple, but often misread. I like to start with that, just to make things easier between us from the outset.

My path to psychiatry hasn’t been conventional and that’s part of what shapes the care I offer today.

Before retraining in psychiatry, I spent over a decade as an eye surgeon and served as Assistant Chief in the Department of Ophthalmology at Kaiser Permanente. I chaired ethics committees, led multidisciplinary medical teams, and studied bioethics at Georgetown University and the University of Washington. But over time, I felt called to work not just with the body, but with the whole person…mind, heart, and soul.

I completed my psychiatry residency at the University of New Mexico, where I served as Chief Resident of Psychotherapy, followed by a two-year fellowship in Integrative Psychiatry through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona.

medical precision and deep compassion

Outside of formal training, I’m a certified yoga instructor and a lifelong student of the inner world. My personal practices include journaling, meditation, and working with archetypal tools such as the Enneagram, tarot, and the I Ching. I’ve pursued additional certifications in astrology and Enneagram facilitation to deepen my understanding of the symbolic language of the psyche, always with the aim of expanding self-awareness and offering more nuanced care to others.

I bring both medical precision and deep compassion to this work, grounded in the belief that healing begins when we are truly seen and heard. My personal mantra is simple: Do good. Keep learning. Have fun.

I live in Central Oregon with my husband and our two King Charles Cavalier Spaniels. We enjoy porch swings, fly fishing, kayaking, and the quiet magic of the high desert. I also love jewelry making, playing acoustic guitar, and experimenting with sound including a glass harmonica, Tibetan singing bowls, and a tongue drum, wherever beauty and resonance can meet the soul.

I’m truly looking forward to meeting you and hearing your story.

If my presence and guidance can offer even a small part of the meaning or happiness you’re seeking, then I feel I’m doing what I was meant to do.
