emotional freedom technique

Tapping into your body’s wisdom.

emotional freedom technique

Tapping, is a somatic, evidence-based practice that combines gentle acupressure via tapping on specific meridian points with focused cognitive and emotional processing.

Rooted in both ancient energy medicine and modern psychology, EFT is known for calming the nervous system, reducing stress, and helping to gently release stuck emotional patterns without the need to relive or retraumatize past experiences.

By engaging both hemispheres of the brain and restoring flow in the body’s energy system, EFT supports healing on multiple levels. Research supports its use for anxiety, trauma, phobias, food cravings, chronic pain, depression, and more.

My Approach

I trained in Clinical EFT with Dr. Peta Stapleton, a leading researcher and Professor of Psychology in Australia whose peer-reviewed studies have brought EFT into wider clinical use. I integrate her trauma-informed, science-backed approach with my background in integrative psychiatry and intuitive healing.

Each session is a conversation with your nervous system; a chance to listen deeply, shift outdated emotional patterns, and create new space for calm, clarity, and change. The process is gentle, collaborative, and often surprisingly profound.

EFT may be especially helpful if you are:

  • Navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or inner conflict
  • Curious about mind-body tools that go beyond talk therapy
  • Recovering from trauma or managing the effects of chronic stress
  • Interested in energy psychology, neuroplasticity, or nervous system regulation
  • Seeking emotional relief without long narratives or rehashing old pain

You don’t need prior experience—just a willingness to be present and curious.

A typical session includes:

  • Identifying a core issue, emotion, or belief pattern
  • Tapping on a sequence of acupressure points while staying connected to the feeling
  • Using targeted language to bring awareness and calm to the nervous system
  • Reframing or neutralizing the emotional charge associated with the issue
  • Closing with grounding, reflection, and integration

EFT can be used as a standalone session or woven into other therapies. Whether you’re clearing the weight of the past or just trying to feel a little more ease today, it offers a safe, body-based way to return to center.
